Herpetofauna: One Life's List

Chionactis occipitalis occipitalis
Mohave Shovel-Nosed Snake

Inyo Co., California
May 21, 2015

It was the last hour of the last day of our Mohave trip, and our two cars had split up to cruise two perpendicular roads.  We got a text from Andy - "got one!"  'One' being the last remaining Shovel-Nose.  Despite a week of terrible weather, we had found all three subspecies of Chionactis occipitalis.
