Texas Toads are chubby little toads with a short body length, and sitting upright they look like little buddhas. They have no distinguishing marks or bright colors, no funky-shaped paratoid glands (they're round), and no cranial crests or postorbital ridges to speak of. Yet, they're plenty cute, I think. They're found throughout most of Texas, anywhere there's permanent or near permanent sources of water. |
