Redcheeked Salamander
Plethodon jordani

Sevier Co., Tennessee. April 25, 2006

Along the banks of a roaring, rain-swollen stream, I found several dozen of these salamanders, under rocks and out in the open. In the same place I also found the desmognathid salamander that mimics Plethodon jordani, the Imitator Salamander, Desmognathus imitator. It was interesting to find these two species in the same location.

Chronicled further in The Great Salamander Swing
