Herpetofauna: One Life's List

Boa constrictor imperator
Central American Boa

Sonora, Mexico
August 23, 2011

Hiking up in the tropical deciduous forest of the Sierra Madre, we stopped to take a break where a rocky wash crossed the trail.  Here we found the first live boa of the trip among the rocks (pictured as found).

Later that night we found another boa crossing the road, and still later, we found a juvenile crawling on the patio outside our hotel room!
