Checkered Garter Snake

Comstock, Val Verde Co., Texas.

We were getting a flat fixed (a victim of the Pandale Dirt Road) in Comstock, Texas.  Rick Milas, ever full of nervous energy and in 'terrier mode', wandered out back of the garage and found some old pieces of metal.  This Checkered Garter Snake is the result, and it reminds me that snakes are where you find them, and that one should never pass up an opportunity when it presents itself.
