Spotted Night Snake
Hypsiglena torquata torquata

Sasabe, Arizona. August 2, 2000

This was the only snake we found that wasn't a Mojave Rattler that night we drove the Sasabe Road. Night snakes are often seen on the roads as they forage for small lizards and insects.

Rick Milas is a big fan of Night Snakes and has kept some in captivity, getting them to eating lizard-scented pinkie mice.
